If you are interested in leading a small group, please feel free to learn more about the leadership process below and contact the Small Group Coordinator. We are always praying for leaders, new & old, to continue this awesome ministry. Small groups cannot exist without willing leaders to guide them in conversation & life sharing. These leaders are the reaching arms of the church, extending their homes, families, and lives out to others in the hope that they can help build the church, by bringing her members together in fellowship to experience a deeper understanding of and relationship with Christ. By emulating Christ in their ministry, these disciples foster holy communities, who then go out to spread the joy of the Gospel.
Strong leaders are essential to our programs. This strength is drawn from their personal relationship with Christ. Through prayer, regular participation in the Sacraments, and a desire to grow in their faith, these leaders are able to provide encouragement and support to their fellow parishioners. Have you ever felt called to dive deeper into your faith with others through leadership? We ask all of our small group members to prayerfully consider & discern the possibility of leading a group.
We’ve outlined the process to becoming a leader below. Applying to lead a group is simple, and powerful. Please take a moment to read through the following steps.
APPLY TO LEAD
CHOOSE A TOPIC: Your group can be formed around the study of a book or Holy Scripture. A topic of faith (such as Lives of the Saints, Sacraments, Prayer, etc.) or any number of other resources could be utilized. Be creative! An interesting group topic can pull members into the discussion while the group explores their faith together. Keep in mind, through our small groups should revolve around a topic, the real goal is not to emphasize Catholic education or a scholarly pursuit, but to participate in life-sharing conversations & relationship forming.
THINK THROUGH THE LOGISTICS: You’ll need to determine the location and dates of your meetings, as well as the type of group your small group will serve.
PREPARE FOR & ATTEND THE DAY OF FORMATION: This day is mandatory for all leaders. If you turn in leadership application materials, please also plan on attending this day of formation.
INTERVIEW WITH THE COORDINATOR: At the end of our Day of Formation, if you wish to pursue leadership for a small group you can interview with a coordinator to follow up on all above accounts.
